Werribee Aquifer Storage & Recovery Design

City West Water’s (CWW) West Werribee Dual Water Supply Scheme (WWDWSS) will receives and treats Melbourne Water Corporation’s (MWC) Western Treatment Plant (WTP) Class A recycled water to reduce its salinity for supply to the West Werribee area in Melbourne, Victoria. The WWDWSS comprises of the:

  • Werribee Recycled Water Plant (WRWP);
  • Reticulation network to and storage in Recycled Water Tanks at Ballan Road;
  • Werribee Aquifer Storage and Recovery (WASR) Scheme

Ace was involved in stage 1 of the overall scheme to construct infrastructure required to directly inject salt reduced Class A water into the aquifer via central production bores.

Ace Electrical was appointed as the subcontractor by the head contractor Fulton Hogan for this partial design and construct contract.

Ace Electrical was involved in the following scope of works:

  • Supply and install all modifications to the existing 22kV HV Switchboard
  • Supply and install extension to existing 22kV High Voltage Supply
  • Supply and install one (1) 22kV/415V 750kVA kiosk type supply transformer and associated earthing system
  • Design, supply and install one (1) 415 LV main switchboard
  • Design, supply and install six (6) 415 LV motor control centre and all associated control
  • Supply and install all instrumentation
  • Supply and install all plant, site and structure earthing
  • Supply and install all electric actuators
  • All motor Local Control Stations (LCSs)
  • Design and supply all software and programming necessary for the local manual
  • Automatic mode operation via local plant HMI interfaces
  • Testing and commissioning of the whole system
  • Provide operator training.
